“Leave my gym short wedgie out of it," the country singer wrote
Maren Morris is speaking out against a recent joke made by comedian Shane Gillis on Saturday Night Live, in which he referred to women at the gym as "whores." Morris, a country singer known for her outspoken personality, took to social media to express her disapproval of the joke, writing "Leave my gym short wedgie out of it." This response not only showcases Morris's sense of humor but also her commitment to standing up for herself and others against sexist and misogynistic comments.
This incident highlights the ongoing conversation about sexism and misogyny in the entertainment industry and beyond. As a female artist in a male-dominated industry, Morris has likely faced her fair share of sexist comments and stereotypes. By calling out Gillis's joke, she's setting an example for others to speak out against language that objectifies and demeans women. It's also worth noting that this isn't the first time Gillis has faced backlash for his comments, and it's clear that his humor isn't landing well with everyone.
What's next to watch is how this incident will impact Gillis's career and whether it will spark a larger conversation about the types of jokes that are acceptable in comedy. For Morris, this incident may also have implications for her own career, as she continues to navigate the music industry as a strong and outspoken female artist. Fans will be watching to see how she continues to use her platform to speak out on issues that matter to her and her audience.
